If one of your doors is leaving marks and holes in your walls, it is time to install a modern door stops. The first thing you have to do is decide what kind of cap you want to install. Doorstops fixed post and floor require drilling into the wall or floor. If you do not want to, there are hinges mounted on top of the door. Once you’ve decided, installation will take a few minutes. Close the door and pull the hinge pin from the top using a screwdriver. Remove the hinge pin.
Doorstop fixed post. Measured along the door with a tape measure. Subtract 1 1/2 inch (3.8 cm) from the measurement of the door and use it to calculate how far to place the top hinge of the door. Drill a hole of 1/8 inch (2 cm) in the wall at the point where you measured and 1 1/2 inch (3.8 cm) above the edge of the modern door stops.
Screw the top of the modern door stops into the hole you just made. Mounted door stop on the floor Move the door open to the point where you want to stop and put a mark on the floor.
